For this poll you may choose up to three shows.
Being as this is a community forum, I encourage replies which support your selections.
Could prove to be an interesting discussion.
For me, I grew up watching TOS during prime time.
The show certainly influenced my imagination and my passion for science, specifically, cosmology.
When I think Star Trek, I think Captain Kirk.
The TOS will always be my favorite no matter how 'dated' it gets because it was the first.
I consider the TOS movies to be a continuation of the TOS series if they would have had the foresight to create more than three seasons.
As far as I'm concerned there should have been at least 10 seasons of TOS.
My next choice has to be TNG with Capt Picard.
I really enjoyed the discovery element of this show.
I liked how the show created a ship culture rich and varied.
How they explored alien cultures which related to our own.
The Enterprise was huge and advanced, plus ~ the saucer section detached!
While I wasn't impressed with the bumpy head alien, the ships were very impressive to me.
Plus, they explored nanotechnology beyond the grey goo scenario.
The concept of Data was also interesting and reflected many human strengths and frailties.
TNG was also impressive for crossing Star Trek series into the show's storytelling.
Not only did we get TOS references and stars, it incorporated DS9.
Well-done!
I'm kinda on the fence about my third and final choice.
While I enjoyed VOY with Capt Janeway and 7of9, I also like the technology in the newer seasons of DIS with Capt Burnham.
But, I had to pick TAS (yes, I know its a cartoon).
TAS, for me, acts as a continuation of the stories which could have been included in TOS.
I loved the fact the stars from TOS voiced some of the TAS characters.
Plus, the stories themselves are on par with the stories of TOS.
So, my third choice has to be TAS.
I'm wondering about SNW?
Strange New Worlds implies a show which focuses on the discoveries which made TNG interesting to me.
Yet to be released, I am actually looking forward to this new Star Trek series.
I'm purposely not reading up on it, I want it to be a pristine 1st viewing.
