An Elvish tree, known as the Ellcrys, is dying. The bad news is that the tree has been the only piece of magic that protects the Four Lands from the Demon World. Amberle Elessedil is the only one who can save the tree. But she has to unlock magic that the Elves haven't used in thousands of years. With the help of Wil Ohmsford, she travels to find the lost magic. But it won't be an easy task.
The Shannara Chronicles is an American fantasy drama television series created by Alfred Gough & Miles Millar. It is an adaptation of the Shannara series of fantasy novels by Terry Brooks, primarily The Sword of Shannara Trilogy.
The critics' consensus reads: "The Shannara Chronicles wears its influences heavily on its sleeve and needs to find surer footing before it can tap its true potential, but it still might suffice for viewers in search of a teen-friendly Game of Thrones."

I read the books by Terry Brooks and found this series has potential but falls flat from the book experience.
I've read mixed reviews that slant towards it needing something.
The Cinematography is fantastic but the dialog and acting needs to get some serious directon.
Have you seen this?
Are you planning to?
Did you read the books, how do you feel about the show?
I wonder if it will be picked up for a 2nd season.
