Rurouni Kenshin: Reflection (2001)

Live Action Films
Five live-action films have been released theatrically. The live-action film adaptation of Rurouni Kenshin was announced on June 28, 2011.
Produced by Warner Bros., with actual film production done by Studio Swan, the films were directed by Keishi Ōtomo and star Takeru Satoh (of Kamen Rider Den-O fame) as Kenshin, Munetaka Aoki as Sanosuke Sagara and Emi Takei as Kaoru.
The first film, titled Rurouni Kenshin, was released on August 25, 2012 in Japan.
In August 2013, it was announced that two sequels were being filmed simultaneously for release in 2014.
Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno and Rurouni Kenshin: The Legend Ends adapt the Kyoto arc of the manga.
On April 12, 2019, it was announced that two new live-action films will adapt the Remembrance/Tenchu & Jinchu arcs.
The films, titled Rurouni Kenshin: The Final and Rurouni Kenshin: The Beginning, premiered in 2021.

Rurouni Kenshin (2012)

In 1868, after the end of the Bakumatsu war, the former assassin Kenshin Himura promises to defend those in need without killing. Kenshin wanders through Japan with a reverse-edged sword during the transition of the samurai age to the New Age. When Kenshin helps the idealistic Kaoru Kamiya from the gangsters of the powerful opium drug lord Kanryuu Takeda that wants her school for his production of opium, Kaoru invites Kenshin to stay in the school. But the drug chemist Megumi Takani escapes from Kanryuu and seeks shelter in the school. Meanwhile the killer Battosai is murdering police officers and leaving messages attached to their bodies. When Kanryuu poisons the population to get the school, Kenshin and the street fighter Sanosuke Sagara join forces to attack their common enemy.

Rurouni Kenshin Part II: Kyoto Inferno (2014)
Kenshin Himura goes up against pure evil Makoto Shishio who is attempting to overthrow the Meiji government. The fate of the country hangs in the balance as Kenshin Himura takes up the sword that he vowed to never draw again.
Makoto, an assassin who once was contracted by the government, has since become obsessed with tearing it down. Formerly, Kenshin was mainly concerned with protecting Kaoru, but the stakes are now higher as he struggles to protect the nation itself.

Rurouni Kenshin Part III: The Legend Ends (2014)
Kenshin wakes up to find himself at his master(Hiko Seijuro)'s house after getting washed by the waves to land while he was unconscious at sea for 3 days. Kenshin asks Seijuro to teach him the ultimate and pinnacle technique of the Hiten Mitsurugi school, the Amakakeru Ryu no Hirameki. Seijuro accepts Kenshin's request after they spar with each other. Meanwhile in Tokyo, Prime Minister Hirobumi Ito attends a meeting with Makoto Shishio who forces him to declare Kenshin a wanted outlaw and have him publicly executed or else Shishio will destroy both Tokyo and the government.
Shishio has set sail in his ironclad ship to bring down the Meiji government and return Japan to chaos, carrying Kaoru with him. In order to stop him in time, Kenshin trains with his old master to learn his final technique.

Rurouni Kenshin: Final Chapter Part I - The Final (2021)
Kenshin Himura (Takeru Satoh) is a legendary swordsman. After the Meiji Restoration, he has stopped killing with the sword. He tries to live a peaceful life with Kaoru Kamiya who runs a swordsmanship school in the village. Things change. Akabeko Restaurant, which is Kenshin Himura's favorite place to eat, is destroyed. Kenshin Himura finds a note written "Junchu" there.
Kenshin's past catches up to him causing the destruction of Akabeko Restaurant, which was Kenshin's favorite place to eat. There, he finds a note with the word "Junchu" on it.

Rurouni Kenshin: Final Chapter Part II - The Beginning (2021)
In the year 1864, samurai Kenshin Himura was known as the Battosai, a deadly assassin whose fierce swordsmanship has killed over one hundred men in one year. When he saves a young woman, Tomoe Yukishiro, from some thugs at an inn, the two slowly begin an attraction that leads to a marriage. This leads Kenshin to potentially give up his sword for the sake of love. However, those who are in support of the Shogunate will not let Kenshin off too easy. The story of how Kenshin received his trademark star-shaped scar is revealed in this prequel, which also serves as the final installment of the live-action franchise adaptation of the manga and anime.
Kenshin Himura goes up against a mysterious weapons dealer named Enishi Yukishiro. He controls the underworld of China. The secret of Kenshin Himura's "Jujishou" is also revealed.
