Alien Chocolate
Back when ET phoned home it wasn't the Reese's Pieces that became the big hit in the galaxy, It was the Chocolate. When he left he managed to return with a sample that was studied and remanufactured. A huge and lucrative business was created in this galaxy all based on our confection. Well, I happened to get a sample of the Alien Chocolate and let me tell you. It looks like chocolate, It smells like chocolate but the taste is just terrible. Hopefully no alien race will taste real chocolate because if they do we will be invaded and robbed. Keep a close eye on your chocolate. If you see some not under guard, buy it and hide it. I'm serious, Don't mess around with this. The only sure way to remove the threat is to eat all chocolate as soon as you find it. Do your part to help Save the Planet from Alien Invasion.
This is a public service announcement.

Primer, One, Two, Three
Of the 650 candidates that started Primer nine years ago, I am one of five that were selected. My first three years were at the Gulf of St Lawrence Facility off the coast of Newfoundland. My second was in the South Pacific between Santa Cruz and Santiago Island. My Final Primer was spent at the Gulf of Mexico Delta Facility just South of New Orleans. Nine years of rigorous training, education and endurance testing has landed me in this small room awaiting the three capsules that will change my life, and everyone else's lives, Forever. Locked away under the highest security in the Sky Tower in Barcelos, Amazonas , South America, I ponder my fate and the promises made that lead me to volunteering for Primer.
The door to my chamber swooshes open and in walks a tall shapely black haired woman with a tray. On the tray is a glass of ice water and she places the tray before me on the table and walks out. Next to the water is the capsule for Step One. About the size of a small tootsie roll, black in color, I notice a bright white line glowing around it's center. I pick it up and swallow it as I was instucted during my training. Finishing the water, I sat and waited for something to happen. Nothing. Aside from the feeling of being full from the water, I felt no changes. After around 20 minutes or so I noticed a fullness in my head. Almost like a sinus pressure but so insignificant. I have heard of candidates that have went insane from the Step One Black Pill of Death but I felt just fine. Soon, a team of doctors rolled in carts and started taking my vitals, Looking into my eyes, ears, nose and mouth I heard under-breath comments like..."no blood from this one"..."I think it took"..."Wow"... They gathered up their equipment and evacuated the room. I could feel their excitement as the room emptied leaving just me sitting there waiting for Step Two.
After a few minutes the same black haired woman returned with another tray and another glass of water. On the tray next to the water laid the infamous Step Two capsule. This time the glass of water was tepid. I picked up the Widowmaker. This capsule has claimed the lives of everyone who has attempted to consume it. Black in color, it had a glowing red line around it's middle. I swallowed it and the water, expecting to die. But I didn't die. Not ten minutes later I felt full in every part of my being. Not only was I not hungry, my flesh felt full, almost like a blood pressure cuff in reverse. My mind and soul felt full, like it was difficult to contain all the brain activity inside me. My mind was racing. I reviewed all nine years of primer in a matter of seconds. Every feeling, instruction and even balance coordination flooded into consiousness.
The team of doctors returned with even more elaborate equipment. They plugged me up to a body EEG! They were measuring the brain activity in my toe? Primer got my body and state of mind ready for this. I just had no idea how much they didn't know. After a good two hours of flash cards, questions and coordination tests they exited the room again.
Seven minutes and 41 seconds later Bonnie returned with the final pill. I sensed her fear thru her protective suit. She placed the tray on the table and hurried out of the room. This time there was no glass of water. This final capsule was wrapped in a foil pouch and I tore it open and a glowing white capsule landed on the table before me. It had no stripes and as it laid there I got a sense of it dematerializing so I picked it up. When my fingers touched the capsule I felt my fingers absorbing it. I didn't need water because the capsule and my fingers were becoming one. I felt a wave of warmth flow thru my body. That pressure I felt inside from the prior Step began subsiding. My head cleared and my thoughts became organized and clear. I knew exactly where I was both in Time and in Space. I could feel my awareness expanding faster than I could have ever imagined. Not only did I 'feel' the facility and every thing inside I was starting to 'feel' the entire planet and everything upon it. I now understood exactly what the Primer, One, Two, Three was about.
The Primer was preparation for understanding the root knowledge of mankind. It subjected my body to extremes and focused my abilities. It honed my coordination. Step One was the AI nanosystem being introduced to my body. It not only set up operations in my brain, it became part of every molecule of my body. Step Two was the introduction of the nano-assemblers and disassemblers. It facilitated the construction of more assemblers within my cells. The Final Step, The Glowing White Capsule was the activating agent. The additional energy needed to spark jump the assemblers into active control. The interface, if you will, for allowing my will to direct the AI matrix to control the assembler saturation and function.
As a simple test I decided to absorb the table. I rearranged the atoms to become a personal sheild. Immediately I sensed fear among the scientists watching me from the monitors. I heard the doors lock and saw metal walls come down all round the room. I felt..."How do we contain it?"..."Nobody has ever survived phase two"..."What if he gets out?"... I spoke to the minds, "I am no threat to you". "Let me show you." I reached out and disolved the metal covering, the door and stepped into the hallway. I saw bullets slowly moving towards me and disolved those as well. "Don't be afraid" I said to the minds. "I will not hurt you."

Tastes Like Fruit Juice
In the 47th Century we finally found a planet within our means that harbored life. We went there expecting to inhabit the planet as our own. There were no advanced intelligent species inhabiting this world but the animals became a staple for all humans. Seems the animal life on this planet has blood that tastes like fruit juice. We have become Vampires!

The mining ships arrived in the early 27th century. Our forces had no impact on their technology. Starting on the ocean floors they stripped away the Earth's crust down to the mantle. Sea levels dropped, weather turned extreme and life began to wane. The miners then began to harvest the land masses. Whole cities and all the people left within them got scraped up into the giant machines. As the mantle was exposed great volcanoes and earthquakes occurred. By the end of the 27th century all the crust had been stripped from the planet. Nothing was left alive. The Mars colonists were the only human beings in existence. They weren't mining for minerals. They eat organic material. The Earth's crust was a rich supply of billions of years of organic material. Lime, oil and coal were like candy to them. Plants and animal were like energy bars when mixed with rich topsoil. Humans never named them and the Mars colonists only saw the end of days reports on their monitors. Would those strange harvesters come to Mars? There was a new fear in the human condition. Fear of extinction.

Moffat Port
I arrived on the early air shuttle flight in the little town of Moffat, Colorado just as the sun was rising. My luggage was heavy as I boarded the bus to Moffat Port. My excitement grew as we approached the gate. There wasn't much to see really. Just a few large buildings scattered here and there. We passed a McDonalds and a Steakhouse, not much traffic and few people around. The bus pulled into a terminal that was well lit and bustling. I disembarked and a purser met me and loaded my bags onto an electric cart. The terminal was huge. There were buses and trucks parked at the many docks around the perimeter of the building. The sound of loading and unloading was almost deafening. I logged in and had my luggage sent to my new quarters. Being a Launch Inspector gave me a very comfortable residence and lots of personal amenities. I signed for my cart and proceeded to Launch Central.
Launch Central was hot and noisy. I looked around and said some hellos and went up to the Inspector's Station. From my control pane I had a full view of every station and all the displays. My control pane allowed me to zoom in on any one station or I could select multiple stations. I noticed that when I selected a station the technicians voice burped over the speakers. Again, I said some hellos and got the usual welcomes and salutations. On the surface behind me was a glowing map of the facility. The pane allowed me to drill down to individual control panels, zoom into track data and examine sensor status. I programmed some quick sets and sat down in my comfortable leather chair. The next launch was in 2 hours, my first launch. I pulled up the director's office and reported in. I then dialed in my last command and reported the transfer complete, my replacement was busy with his first slow-boat launch. I let him work, knowing that people's lives were in his hands. So glad to be out of that stress. Nobody dies from a Moffat Launch.
I guess I should tell you about this facility. It's the newest one and the only facility that is for freight only.
Moffat Port is a privately owned freight launch facility. It also has a recovery port for its launch containers. It has support buildings above surface but most of the facility is underground. The launch rail is 15 miles long and exits the ground on the west southwest slope of Gibson Peak. There is a Sled Recovery Facility on the mouth of the rail. Freight (metal components, support hardware, food, water, oxygen, personal items, and anything needed at the International Space Platform) is loaded into specially designed containers. These containers are loaded onto one of five launch sleds and secured with magnetic locks. The launch rail is a 15 mile long electromagnetic rail that propels the sled to no less than 17,500 mph. The Sled Recovery Facility stops the sled magnetically and the container exits the rail tube. As the speed of the container decreases, its on-board systems fire its booster rockets to achieve a designated high orbit. Once in orbit, the platform jockeys capture the sled and deliver its contents to the platform. The jockeys then send the container back to us which we retrieve and reuse. My job is to make sure it all goes according to plan.
But it didn't!

The Sub-Atomic Age
In the late 21st century mankind discovered how to tap the sub-atomic energies of atomic forces. Energy generation became obsolete as well as the need for wires and batteries. Electronic devices got smaller and lighter. Heat became an energy product that was used to create horsepower. Gravity was controllable and used for more than levitation and propulsion.
This discovery was born from the explosion in nano-technology. Its impact rivaled the creation of the wheel, the discovery of fire and the taming of the nuclear age. It was a new era for mankind that we now reap the benefits from.
Physicists discovered that the forces that controlled the atomic structures had patterns that could be manipulated. That energy could be conserved and harnessed for any purpose at the atomic level. That's why we now have devices that require no external energy source. The devices are powered by the forces within the atoms that make up the device.
Research showed that certain sub-atomic particles like the famous lepton and mu were directly affected by gravitational forces. So much so, that they could be ganged together to attract or repel other forces. This effect could be permanent like our atomic adhesive or managed for many of our mechanical constructs. It was just a matter of combining the correct atomic elements in the correct patterns.
The Phare Computing System was created shortly after that. Your cognative implants are based on that old PCS that allows you to comprehend this class. At 16 months you are able to comprehend at higher levels than most people at the age of 50 years back in the 21st century.
You are probably wondering why this class is needed now? History teaches us the forgotten skills that created our world today. Without the understanding of what was our ability to create the 'what will be' is stagnated.
In a few moments I will initiate the pulse. Your next class will be Food: Absorbing The Right Nutrients for Your Body with Miss Willis.

The Farnwell Experiment
Back in 2015 Dr. Jules Farnwell conducted a quantum energy experiment on subject "Tom". Now, 11 years later, "Subject Tom" stands as proof to the next step in human evolution.
Dr. Farnwell used quantum energy to split subject Tom into two separate entities, Tom.5 1 and Tom.5 2. The 10 year Tom.5 experiment verified the cohesion of quantum particles in a living substrate. Below is a listing of some of the notable conditions observed.
* Tom.5 1 (primary) and Tom.5 2 (secondary) were housed in identical rooms, with identical furnishings and amenities. Recording equipment ran 24/7 for 10 years logging every move both parties made.
** Shortly after separation both subjects were weak and frail. The primary subject (original subject Tom) was given supplements and medical treatment while the secondary subject was afforded no such medical assistance. Dr. Farnwell discovered by treating the primary subject, the secondary subject responded with the exact same results.
1. Stimulus applied to the primary was reflected simultaneously by the secondary. 2. Movements were simultaneous for both subjects exactly. 3. When one subject was removed from the room, the other immediately fell asleep and would not wake until the removed subject reentered their room. 4. Hair growth and bodily function were mimicked. When one subject shaved the other subject's facial hair diminished and slowed growth. 5. Vitality in both subjects increased over the course of the 10 year observation/experiment.
*** Both subjects were cataloged according to intelligence, physical endurance/strength and coordination. They were found to be exactly the same.
During the 11th year, Dr. Farnwell initiated a quantum combining pulse that reconstituted subject Tom.5 1 and Tom.5 2 into one being again. Results were astonishing. Tom1.0.2 was the same person but Twice as strong, Twice as intelligent and Twice as coordinated. Tests are revealing that Tom 2.0 is able to process food better and requires less of it. The subject can lift 500 lbs repeatedly and can effortlessly memorize anything he sees, hears or smells and verbally recite the details. The subject has also demonstrated the ability to balance effortlessly on any structure. Tom 2.0 has agreed to another 10 years of testing and experiments in the name of science.
Barring catastrophic failure this stands to be a landmark discovery for the human race. Dr. Farnwell currently has 4 "other" experiments 'in process' with various animal and plant subjects. He is finding that by 'fine tuning' the split experiences he can recombine subjects to predetermined abilities that exceed the limitations of the original. The degree of enhancement is directly related to the duration of the split.

A Year At 22 Inches
This is the accounting of Major Timothy Barnard's isolation accident at Way-Point Station.
Major "Tim" Barnard was selected for the annual resupply mission to the Mars Way-Point Station. It was not supposed to be a year long mission. His story of the harrowing event reminds us that space is very unforgiving.
His equipment and calm in the face of catastrophic events brought him home with no adverse effects.
As you know, the Way-Point Station resupply missions are a 1 person job. The six month mission is made possible by the use of the Nano620 Lifesuit and the Fission Drive "Mule' Sled. The average payload is 500 Tons of supplies and parts that is delivered to asteroid 936 for Mars resupply.
Tim admits that the 'accident' was entirely his human malfunction and not, I repeat, NOT an equipment malfunction. His recounting in this PSA transmission is to reinforce your training to always be on your game during any mission.
Everything was working according to procedure until I docked with the station. My lapse in judgement is the sole reason I was stranded for a full year until the next mission arrived. My advice is to Pay Attention To What You Are Doing At All Times! After I docked the Mule I noticed one of the straps on the cargo hatch was not fully secure. Had I followed my training there would never had been any problem but thinking that I could save myself a few hours I untethered from the mule and reached out to secure the strap free-handed. THAT was my mistake. When I reached out I inadvertently let go of my hand-hold on the mule. When I started to float free I panicked and missed my hold on the strap. My slight momentum moved me away from the structure ever so slightly. I needed to purchase a mere 3 inches of space to reach safety but no matter what I tried I could not get myself closer. Without access to the Mule's radio interface I couldn't even call for help. I was stuck, floating in space, millions of miles from anyone that could assist me. Only my Lifesuit keeping me from sure death. I checked the OSD of my lifesuit status and it read optimal. I was never so happy to know that my nano suit would keep me alive indefinitely but that happiness was surpassed by the thought of floating away in space forever. I considered attempting to rip my suit to expel pressure but one of the qualities of the suit is that it reacts to external stimuli to keep the occupant in optimal health. It would not have ripped even if I tried. The only way to exit the suit is to completely power down at which time my body would be exposed to space and I still would be no closer to a hand-hold. Hours led to days which led to weeks then months. The only change was that I was moving slowly, agonizingly slowly, away from the long sought hand-hold. When Bob (Major Bob Fortenac) finally arrived with the next shipment I had drifted a full 22 inches away from the mark. Bob dropped his cargo and used his mule to bump me back to my control station on my mule. We conversed while I followed procedure to secure the wayward strap on my cargo and we had a wonderful time during our journey home. Despite our advanced technology and wonderful gadgets I will never make another delivery without a Propulp again. In addition, I load my suit with more than enough media to keep me entertained indefinitely. Always follow procedure and stay on the moment. It only takes one bad move for things to go really bad.
Thank You Major Barnard.
Pro-Pulps are now being issued for all space missions. Download Pro-Pulp Handling and Use ver# 1.0.263.b from the Mission Database before your next run. And always...Pay Attention!
