Poltergeist: The Legacy Unrated | 1h | Horror, Sci-Fi | TV Series (1996–1999) Four Seasons
"The Legacy" is a secret society that began many centuries ago to accumulate knowledge and artifacts to help fight against the evil in the world. This particular Legacy team is set in San Francisco in a castle-like house on Angel Island. Dr. Derek Rayne heads up the team comprised of psychiatrist, Rachel Corrigan; priest, Philip C.; ex-Navy SEAL, Nick Boyle; and researcher/psychic Alex Moreau.

Poltergeist: The Legacy debuted on Showtime, and all first-run episodes of the first three seasons premiered on that network, though they were later syndicated. After the third season, Showtime cancelled the show, and the rights were purchased by Sci Fi Channel which continued the series for another season. This same pattern was followed by Stargate SG-1, which also debuted on Showtime, was also sold into syndication, and was rescued from cancellation by Sci Fi.
The fourth season of Poltergeist: The Legacy featured an episode starring WWE wrestler The Undertaker as a being from Hell who collected souls, a deliberate[original research?] crossover with RAW, which was also airing on the USA Network at the time and earning the network some of the highest ratings on cable TV. It was hoped that this cameo would help boost awareness of the new show, and thus generate a larger audience (just as USA had attempted to do by having Shawn Michaels appear on Pacific Blue).
In 2009 Poltergeist: The Legacy aired on NBC Universal's horror and suspense-themed cable channel Chiller.
This fansite, which began in September 1996, is dedicated to the show, its cast and crew members, and the loyal viewers of this 1996-1999 series. Poltergeist: The Legacy™, or P:TL as the fans have come to call it, first aired on the US pay channel SHOWTIME, starting in April 1996. First runs of seasons 1-3 were aired there each season before being released to syndication across the world. Lucky for us, The Sci Fi Channel (US) picked up the fourth season and it aired there first in 1999 before going into syndication. From then until mid-2004, Sci Fi re-ran the episodes in the wee hours. Showtime Beyond picked it up for a little while starting in Sep 2005. P:TL is still aired around the world on various channels, so check your local tv listings.
