*Halloween 1: Judith's Death (1978) jl curtis d pleasence n castle Halloween is a 1978 American slasher film directed and scored by John Carpenter, co-written with producer Debra Hill, and starring Donald Pleasence and Jamie Lee Curtis in her film debut. The film tells the story of serial killer Michael Myers as he stalks and kills teenage babysitters on Halloween night. The film predominately focuses on Michael who was committed to a sanitarium as a child for the murder of his older sister Judith Myers. Fifteen years later, he escapes to stalk and kill the people of the fictional town of Haddonfield, Illinois while being chased by his former psychiatrist, Samuel Loomis. Michael stalks Laurie Strode and her friends as they babysit. ... the idea was that you couldn't kill evil, and that was how we came about the story. We went back to the old idea of Samhain, that Halloween was the night where all the souls are let out to wreak havoc on the living, and then came up with the story about the most evil kid who ever lived. And when John came up with this fable of a town with a dark secret of someone who once lived there, and now that evil has come back, that's what made Halloween work. 7.70 Rating 91 min Possessed by an unfathomable urge to kill, six-year-old Michael Myers butchers his fifteen-year-old sister, Judith, on the night of Halloween, on October 31, 1963. Precisely fifteen long years later, on the anniversary of the brutal murder, Michael escapes from Smith's Grove Sanitarium, a mental health facility and detainment centre for the criminally insane, and returns to his hometown of Haddonfield, Illinois. Before long, emotionless Michael becomes fixated on the blissfully unsuspecting high school student, Laurie Strode, and her friends, Annie and Lynda, while Myers' psychiatrist, Dr Samuel Loomis, and sceptical Sheriff Leigh Brackett comb the town in search of the mentally unstable inmate. However, the shadows are thick, and he is always one step ahead of them. Has Michael Myers returned to pick up where he left off?

*Halloween 1.2: Halloween Kills (2021) jl curtis n castle s macarthur
Halloween Kills is a 2021 American slasher film directed by David Gordon Green and written by Green, Danny McBride and Scott Teems. The film is a sequel to 2018's Halloween and the twelfth installment in the Halloween franchise. The film stars Jamie Lee Curtis and Nick Castle, who reprise their roles as Laurie Strode and Michael Myers, with James Jude Courtney also portraying Myers again. Judy Greer, Andi Matichak, and Will Patton also reprise their roles from the previous film, with Anthony Michael Hall and Thomas Mann joining the cast. The film, which begins precisely where the previous film ended, sees Strode and her family continuing to fend off Myers, this time, with the help of the Haddonfield community.
Jason Blum serves as a producer on the film through his Blumhouse Productions banner, alongside Malek Akkad and Bill Block. Before the release of the 2018 film, McBride in June 2018 confirmed that he and Green had originally intended to pitch two films that would be shot back-to-back, and then decided against it, waiting to see the reaction to the first film. Following the critical and commercial success of the 2018 film, development on the sequel promptly began as early as October 2018. By February 2019, Teems was hired to co-write the script. The film's title was officially announced in July 2019, along with its sequel. Principal photography commenced in September 2019 in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Halloween Kills had its world premiere at the 78th Venice International Film Festival on September 8, 2021. Following a year delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the film is scheduled to be theatrically released in the United States on October 15, 2021, by Universal Pictures; it will also stream on paid tiers of Peacock for 60 days. Initial reviews for the film were mixed, with praise for the film's kills, references and the performances (particularly from Curtis, Greer, and Matichak), but criticism for its screenplay, direction and for not adding anything new for the franchise.
After Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis), her daughter Karen (Judy Greer), and granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak) leave Michael Myers caged in the basement of Laurie's burning house, Michael manages to free himself. 'Halloween Ends 2022' is an upcoming American horror, thriller film directed by David Gordon Green. Producers of this film are Malek Akkad, Jamie Lee Curtis, Jason Blum, Bill Block, John Carpenter, Ryan Freimann , Couper Samuelson' Ryan Turek, Jeanette Volturno.
From Screen Rant~
In the current Blumhouse continuity, none of the prior Halloween movies after John Carpenter's original actually took place, meaning the revelation that Michael and Laurie were siblings never occurred.
there's no realistic chance Halloween Ends actually ends the franchise, it will likely end the saga of Laurie and Michael, at least when it comes to the involvement of Jamie Lee Curtis. With that in mind, it's time to finally give Laurie the moment she's deserved since 1978, as she gets to send the psycho who ruined her life off to burn in Hell, assuming such a place exists. Curtis wanted Laurie to get that moment in Halloween H20 when she chopped off Michael's head, but producer Moustapha Akkad disagreed, leading to Halloween: Resurrection's frustrating retcon that ruined H20's ending. Now it can really happen, for keeps this time, at least in this branch of the Halloween multiverse.
There's no better, or more symbolic, place for Laurie to kill Michael than inside Smiths Grove, where he spent most of his life seemingly becoming more and more evil. Dr. Loomis fought like a madman to keep Michael's evil locked up, and to see it ended back at Smiths Grove would also be a fitting tribute to the deceased psychiatrist that saved Laurie in 1978. Of course, there's one other factor to consider, albeit one that's a bit unlikely, that being Laurie getting killed off as a shocking twist in Halloween Kills. Should that happen though, the role of killing Michael could easily be switched over to her daughter or granddaughter, avenging the murder of their matriarch. Michael needs to die in Halloween Ends, and a Strode needs to end him, preferably inside the concrete walls of Smiths Grove Sanitarium.

Halloween II is a 1981 American slasher film directed by Rick Rosenthal in his directorial debut, written and produced by John Carpenter and Debra Hill, and starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Donald Pleasence who reprise their respective roles as Laurie Strode and Dr. Sam Loomis. It is the second installment in the Halloween film series and a direct sequel to Halloween. The plot picks up immediately after the events of the previous film, where Michael Myers follows survivor Laurie Strode to a nearby hospital, while Dr. Loomis is still in pursuit of his patient. Originally, Halloween II was intended to be the last chapter of the Halloween series to revolve around Michael Myers and the town of Haddonfield, but after the lackluster reaction to Season of the Witch (1982), the Michael Myers character was brought back six years later in The Return of Michael Myers (1988).

As the implacable killer stalks the hospital halls, lurking in the shadows of the ill-lit hospital corridors, in the meantime, Loomis and Sheriff Leigh Brackett are sniffing for clues, only to unearth a shocking dark secret. But, who can stop "The Shape", the relentless messenger of death?

An adaptation of the screenplay was printed as a mass market paperback in 1981 by horror and science-fiction writer Dennis Etchison under the pseudonym Jack Martin. Etchison's novelization was distributed by Kensington Books and became a bestseller. It also features captioned black and white stills from the film at the beginning of each chapter.
An incident with minor connections to the film heightened attitudes about the potent effects of media violence on young people. On December 7, 1982, Richard Delmer Boyer of El Monte, California, murdered Francis and Eileen Harbitz, an elderly couple in Fullerton, California, leading to the trial People v. Boyer (1989). The couple were stabbed 43 times by Boyer. According to the trial transcript, Boyer's defense was that he suffered from hallucinations in the Harbitz residence brought on by "the movie Halloween II, which defendant had seen under the influence of PCP, marijuana, and alcohol." The film was played for the jury, and a psychopharmacologist "pointed out various similarities between its scenes and the visions defendant described." Boyer was found guilty and sentenced to death. The incident became known as the "Halloween II Murders" and was featured in a short segment on TNT's Monstervision, hosted by film critic Joe Bob Briggs. Following the trial, moral critics came to the defense of horror films and rejected calls to ban them. Thomas M. Sipos, for instance, stated, It would be silly, after all, to ban horror films just because Boyer claims to have thought that he was reenacting Halloween II, or to ban cars because Texas housewife Clara Harris intentionally ran down and killed her husband. Nor does it make sense to ban otherwise useful items such as drugs or guns just because some individuals misuse them.
Scream Factory, a subsidiary of Shout! Factory, re-released the film in a 2-disc Collector's Edition Blu-ray on September 18, 2012 with new special features, including two audio commentaries, two "behind-the-scenes" featurettes, deleted scenes, an alternate ending, the theatrical trailer, TV and radio spots, and a still gallery.
The Collector's Edition also contains the television cut, along with a downloadable script of the film. This Blu-ray release restores the Akkad credit. The Scream Factory Blu-ray was repackaged and re-released in 2014 as part of the company's "Complete Collection," which features the entire film series.

Halloween III: Season of the Witch is a 1982 American science fiction horror film and the third installment in the Halloween film series. It is the first film to be written and directed by Tommy Lee Wallace. John Carpenter and Debra Hill, the creators of Halloween, returned as producers. This installment follows the story of Dr. Dan Challis (Tom Atkins) as he tries to solve the mysterious murder of a patient in his hospital. He, along with the patient's daughter Ellie Grimbridge (Stacey Nelkin), travels to the small town of Santa Mira, California. The pair discover that Silver Shamrock Novelties, a company run by Conal Cochran (Dan O'Herlihy), is attempting to use the mystic powers of the Stonehenge rocks to resurrect the ancient aspects of the Celtic festival, Samhain, which Cochran connects to witchcraft. Cochran is using his Silver Shamrock Halloween masks to achieve his goal, which will be achieved when all the children wearing his masks watch the Silver Shamrock commercial airing Halloween night.

Country: United States Genre: Sci-Fi, Horror Release: 1982-10-22 Director: Tommy Lee Wallace Cast: Dan Oherlihy, Tom Atkins, Stacey Nelkin
Halloween III is the only entry in the series that does not feature the series antagonist Michael Myers, nor does it include story elements from either Halloween (1978) or Halloween II (1981). In fact, it treats the first film and, apparently, its sequel as fictional films, as one of the characters watches a trailer for the original during the film; additionally, the film's tagline is a reference to the tagline from the original as well. It also departs from the slasher genre which the first two installments were part of, instead featuring a "witchcraft" theme with science fiction aspects and parallels to old Celtic fairy tales. John Carpenter and Debra Hill believed that the Halloween series had the potential to branch into an anthology series of horror films that centered around the night of Halloween, with each sequel containing its own characters, setting, and storyline. Director Wallace stated that there were many ideas for Halloween-themed films, some of which could have potentially created any number of their own sequels, and that Season of the Witch was meant to be the first of the anthology series.

The fourth installment in the Halloween film series, it focuses on Michael Myers returning home to kill his niece Jamie Lloyd, the daughter of Laurie Strode, with his former psychiatrist Dr. Sam Loomis once more pursuing him. As its title suggests, the film marks the return of Michael Myers after his absence from the previous installment, Season of the Witch. Initially, John Carpenter and co-producer Debra Hill retired the Michael Myers storyline after the second installment of the series, intending to feature a new Halloween-season-related plot every sequel, of which Halloween III would be the first. Halloween 4 was originally intended to be a ghost story; however, due to the disappointing financial performance of the third film, Halloween 4 reintroduced Michael Myers.

Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers is a 1989 American slasher film and the fifth installment in the Halloween film series. It was directed and co-written by Dominique Othenin-Girard and starred Donald Pleasence, who again portrayed Dr. Sam Loomis, and Danielle Harris, who reprised her role as Jamie Lloyd. The film takes place exactly one year after the events depicted in Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers. Michael Myers has returned to the sleepy town of Haddonfield, Illinois to murder his niece, Jamie, who is now mute. Dr. Loomis tries to save the day with the help of Sheriff Meeker. The first draft of the script was written by Shem Bitterman. Bitterman's idea was that Jamie Lloyd would become evil after stabbing her stepmother while The Shape was after her. This idea was rejected by the studio and Akkad, who brought in Michael Jacobs to write the script. After reviewing the script, director Dominique Othenin-Girard added some new aspects like Jamie's inability to speak and her visions. Veteran actor Donald Pleasence had disagreements with Akkad and Othenin-Girard, citing that Jamie should have been portrayed as "all-evil" after stabbing her stepmother. Akkad disagreed, thinking that fans wanted to see more of The Shape.
The infamous Michael Myers, returns to stalk his niece Jamie and kill her. Jamie is hospitalized and unable to speak because of her trauma during Michael';s last killing spree. She has visions of where Michael will appear and kill again, and he intends to stop her. Dr. Loomis is working with Jamie to help her find Michael and lock him away. But unbeknownst to them, a stranger has come to Haddonfield, and he is a key factor in the outcome of the madness that has plagued Haddonfield on Halloween for over ten years!

The film had been fighting an X rating due to its violence, blood, and gore. Some scenes were trimmed down to keep it rated R. The scene in which Jamie climbs up the laundry chute was originally more graphic. Originally, Michael stabbed her in the leg. But due to the request of the Motion Picture Association of America, the scene was cut down.
In April 2019, film reels were discovered which possibly contain the original lost opening
Donald Pleasence accidentally broke Don Shanks' nose on the set when they were filming the scene where Dr. Loomis beats The Shape with a 2×4 block of wood.
Don Shanks was also injured when he was filming the scene where The Shape crashes Mike's Camaro into the tree. Othenin-Girard had forgotten to yell "Cut!" and fire was beginning to emerge from the car (Shanks put this down to Othenin-Girard being sidetracked by seeing stunts take place during his first major directing job). Finally, stunt coordinator Don Hunt told Othenin-Girard to finally yell "cut". Wendy Kaplan was also injured in this scene, as the car almost ran over the top of her.

Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers is notorious among Halloween fans for having multiple versions. The Producer's Cut is the best known; however, a Director's Cut also exists with footage cut by the MPAA. The theatrical version was the only version commercially available—with the Director and Producer's cuts existing as low-quality bootlegs—until the Producer's Cut was included in the official Complete Collection box set released by Scream Factory and Anchor Bay Entertainment in 2014.
This cut of Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers features numerous differences, ranging from different scores and musical cues to substantial shifts in plot, particularly regarding the film's conclusion. Anchor Bay Media and Scream Factory gave The Producer's Cut an official release on Blu-ray in September 2014.
A few select scenes from the Producer's Cut can be seen in the television version of the film. The scenes were re-inserted to increase the running time of the film.
Farrands describes Michael as a "sexual deviant". According to him, the way Michael follows girls around and watches them contains a subtext of repressed sexuality. Farrands theorizes that, as a child, Michael became fixated on the murder of his sister Judith, and for his own twisted reasons felt the need to repeat that action over and over again, finding a sister-like figure in Laurie who excited him sexually. He also believes that by making Laurie Michael's literal sister, the sequels took away from the simplicity and relatability of the original Halloween. Nevertheless, when writing Curse, Farrands was tasked with creating a mythology for Michael which defined his motives and why he could not be killed. He says, "He can't just be a man anymore, he's gone beyond that. He's mythical. He's supernatural. So, I took it from that standpoint that there's something else driving him. A force that goes beyond that five senses that has infected this boy's soul and now is driving him." As the script developed and more people became involved, Farrands admits that the film went too far in explaining Michael Myers and that he himself was not completely satisfied with the finished product.
